So today I thought I would see exactly how long I could hold out against Miss 4 year old. It’s something I do almost every day, but as parents we tend to do this without actually timing it.
The scene was lunch. The issue started off as more bread. It was rationally explained that two large slices of bread was enough. I decided to start timing here.

Do you know the difference between pearls? Not that I expect anyone to be buying a row of pearls for their neck (or someone else’s), but you will find individual pearls used in jewelry on Etsy, especially the vintage pieces.

Lets talk about buying something you can’t hold in your hands. Which can be really daunting the first time!
We are tactile creatures. We like to feel the weight, the texture and the essense of the things we buy.
So how can you buy something on Etsy, especially jewellery, and know you are getting the right thing?
So let us assume you are familiar with Etsy now, (if not read this).
Have you tried the Treasury? Searching for random items via color? They even have their Halloween Showcase up and running.
There is their blog, the Storque, if you are interested in the internal goings on. There are also the forums where you can read the goss or sellers plying their products. You can even air your gripes or ask for help. Considering there are 30,000 sellers on Etsy alone you can imagine the volume of people reading the forums!
But by far my favourite happening on Etsy at the moment is the Halloween Costume Contest.
I am addicted to costumes. Fortunately I have kids so I can project this onto them (rather embarrassing to be the only one arriving at work year after year as the only one dressed up on Halloween). So looking at other inspiration in this department is worth many a late night for me!
Hint : do a search for ‘costumecon’ to see entrants!
